Today, we’re celebrating what would’ve been former First Lady Rosalynn Carter’s 97th birthday.
Carter focused on mental health initiatives and erasing the stigma from mental health care. In 1982, Carter co-founded The Carter Center with her husband, former President Jimmy Carter, and served as the chair of The Carter Center Mental Health Task Force.
Rosalynn Carter was a trailblazer for mental health, early childhood immunization, human rights, and conflict resolution. She served as an inspiration to women everywhere.
